There is a lot you can do to keep your lawn and landscape happy and healthy. One, and one of the major ones, is watering the adequate amount. Here we’ve put together a few watering tips you can follow.

If you have an irrigation system installed, you can save money, time and effort in keeping your lawn green. One thing we highly recommend is watering in the early morning, right before dawn. This allows for the water to saturate the roots of your lawn and not be evaporated by the hot sun. But we have to be careful when we water. Watering late at night can be an invitation for fungus and disease.

Try to avoid watering during the day. The hot sun will quickly evaporate the water before it has a chance to reach the roots of the lawn.

A tip to try to avoid wasted water is not watering when it rains. Let nature do the work by giving your lawn and landscape a nice drink of water. This will save you money and help not waste water.

Keep an eye on your sprinkler heads to ensure that the sprinklers are evenly watering the lawn. This can be easily spotted by brown spots in the grass. Turn on the sprinklers and see where there might be some trouble areas.

A good way to water your flower beds is by installing a drip irrigation system. Or by installing smaller sprinkler heads in the flower beds.

These are just a few tips to keep your landscape well watered and happy. There are many other efforts that can be done to ensure everything is looking 100%. If you’re unsure, get in contact with us and we’d be happy to consult with you about your landscape watering habits!
